Tapak Suci Putera Muhammadiyah or abbreviated as Tapak Suci, is an Indonesian based Pencak Silat school. It was founded on July 1963 in Kauman, Yogyakarta. Tapak Suci has the motto “With faith and morality, I will be strong, without Faith and Morals I will be weak (Dengan Iman dan Akhlak saya menjadi kuat, tanpa Iman dan Akhlak saya menjadi lemah). Ever since its foundation, it has been controlled by the Muhammadiyah Islamic organization in Indonesia. Tapak Suci teachings are rooted in Islam, and clean of pagan practices or shirk.
