Coach Richard has been practicing Silat for over three decades. He has experience fighting inside open tournaments as well as real-life self-defense encounters. He has coached winning athletes at multiple international Pencak Silat tournaments including the World Pencak Silat tournament in 2015, 2016 and 2018, the 2018 Belgium Open and the 2019 US Open. He has also coached Pencak Silat athletes who won first place at prestigious open tournaments including the Eastern Regional Karate Tournament and the US Capitol Classics. He also is a UPSF certified jury for Tanding and teaches regular Silat classes to young adults at the Silat Martial Arts Academy in Rockville, Maryland.
