Adam Pereira won USA’s first silver at a World Pencak Silat Championship. Adam has trained martial arts all his life, studying various styles such as Tang Soo Do, Japanese Jujitsu and wrestling. His father, an accomplished martial artist, taught him proper techniques from an early age. Adam frequently travelled to Indonesia to visit his mother’s family where he studied Silat Tiga Berantai. In 2016, Adam won bronze medal at the World Pencak Silat Championships in Bali, Indonesia, and in 2018 in Singapore, he won Silver in Tanding, men’s division for weight Class D.
